THE SAM BISH FOUNDATION
In early 2025, the Sam Bish Foundation merged with NC4K’s support services for families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis in Ohio.
Sam Bish was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when he was nine years old. After undergoing chemotherapy, multiple lung surgeries, and a leg amputation, Sam passed away at the age of ten. Before his passing, Sam asked his family and friends to make a promise to help all kids facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis like him and bring them “hope, support, and smiles.” Sam’s parents created the Sam Bish Foundation to carry out Sam’s wishes.
The Sam Bish Foundation worked closely with pediatric cancer families to support them throughout their journey. The organization’s many activities included responding to requests for rent and mortgage assistance, distributing gift cards for groceries and gas, funding car payments and repairs, providing gifts to patients in the hospital, and collaborating with other nonprofits to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. The Sam Bish Foundation is known for their annual “Bish Bash,” a day full of games, inflatables, characters, food, and fun for pediatric cancer families to enjoy together.
With a shared focus on providing financial and emotional support, NC4K is committed to continuing the Sam Bish Foundation’s mission of “giving a voice to all kids battling pediatric cancer.”
